Yippee!

The home visit is officially over! It went incredibly well and was pretty easy. Our social worker is a really nice man and we felt very comfortable with him. He interviewed us together, then apart for a few minutes, then toured the house. It took about an hour and a half. He said it was the quickest home study he had ever done and I asked, "In a good way?" He said, "Yes."

At the end, he told us we are approved. He then said, "The agency was right. You are a very sweet couple and your child will be very lucky." I almost started to cry! He will be the one to come back and do the post placement visits. He said they will alst about 45 minutes, but he said, "Or longer, depending on how long I get caught up holding the baby." We thought he was so nice and we feel thrilled it's over!

Now we wait for the agency to call us to come proofread the written report before the final copy is drawn up, and then we wait for the I-797 from USCIS. That's the final step before we're off to Harrisburg and then New York City. Yay!

Whew!

Am I ever exhausted! I really miss the summer!

This weekend, my mom, aunt, and I cleaned the house from top to bottom. The social worker is coming for the home visit on Friday, and they wanted to pitch in and give me a hand. They knew I had 120 projects to grade as well this weekend, so they were very sweet to help me. With three of us cleaning, we got it all done in about 4 hours. My house has never been so clean! It really wasn't that dirty, but now it is spotless!

This weekend I also have a family reunion. I so long for a weekend with nothing to do- and school has only just started! I really miss the summer already. If we could only have three day weekends, my whole life would change for the better!

I feel like the most boring person alive now that I have started back to school. I don't have time to do anything exciting!
